Dr. M. Samuel Noordhoff was an American missionary surgeon whose life’s work helped transform modern medicine in Taiwan.
Arriving in Taiwan in 1959, he served at Mackay Memorial Hospital and later became the founding Superintendent of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. He believed in holistic care — treating not only the body, but also the mind and spirit.
In 1989, Dr. Noordhoff made the founding donation that established the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation. Today, NCF continues his mission by helping children with cleft lip, cleft palate, and craniofacial conditions receive comprehensive medical care, emotional support, family guidance, and long-term follow-up.
His vision lives on in a simple belief: every child deserves the chance to heal with dignity, confidence, and hope.

NCF believes healing must care for the whole child — physically, emotionally, and socially.
Children with cleft lip, cleft palate, and craniofacial conditions often need more than surgery. Through multidisciplinary teams, NCF helps provide medical care, speech and dental support, family guidance, emotional care, and long-term support from birth through adolescence.

NCF helps build lasting care by training local craniofacial teams.
Through scholarships, medical training, seminars, free clinics, and educational resources, NCF equips “seed” professionals to return home, treat local patients, strengthen medical teams, and improve craniofacial care in their own communities.

NCF partners with medical teams around the world to help build lasting craniofacial care.
By combining training, local needs assessments, donated equipment, and shared resources, NCF helps establish craniofacial teams and centers that can serve more patients in their own communities.

Love Makes Whole USA provides a simple pathway for U.S. donors to support the mission of the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation. Contributions may be eligible for U.S. tax deductions, helping donors give with confidence while supporting life-changing craniofacial care for children and families in need.
